A tiger is solitary and territorial and the territory of an adult male may encompass territories of two to seven females.  Tigers are carnivorous and hunt for prey primarily by sight and sound. They feed on deer, buffalo, wild pigs, domestic livestock, peafowl, monkeys, fish, large monitor lizards, pythons, young elephants or rhinos, and sometimes even other predators like leopards and bears.
